How to use it

  1. Place it

    Stand it on a flat floor or table with 1 metre of clear space in front, facing into the room.

  2. Plug in

    Fan heaters draw a lot of power — use a good wall socket, never a multi-plug.

  3. Choose a mode

    Cool (fan only), warm (low heat) or hot (high heat).

  4. Set the thermostat

    Turn the thermostat to high until the room is warm, then turn it back until the heater clicks off — it will now hold that temperature.

  5. Switch off

    Turn it off and unplug when you leave the room or go to sleep.

Use it safely: keep the heater at least 1 metre away from curtains, bedding, sofas, clothes and paper, and never cover it or dry clothes on it. Plug it straight into a wall socket — not a cheap multi-plug or a long extension board. Stand it on a flat, hard floor, switch it off when you sleep or leave the room, and keep children and pets away from the hot grill. Do not use it in a bathroom or near water.

QDoes a fan heater warm the whole room?

Yes — that is its strength. It blows warm air around a closed room, so the whole room gets warm in 10–20 minutes, not just the spot in front of it.

QDoes it use a lot of electricity?

It depends on the setting. A 2,000 W heater uses 2 units an hour on high, but with the thermostat set, it switches itself off and on and uses much less once the room is warm.

QIs it noisy?

You hear a soft fan hum, like a table fan on low. It is quieter than most room coolers.

QDoes it make the air dry?

Any heater can make the air feel dry. Keep a bowl of water in the room or open the door a little now and then.

QCan I use it in summer?
